Before processing payouts or onboarding new users, it is critical to know exactly who you are dealing with. Monnify provides Identity Verification APIs that allow you to validate customer details in real-time; helping you prevent fraud and avoid sending money to the wrong person.

Here are the verification services Monnify provides:

1. Account Name Enquiry Service

1. What it does: This service confirms the exact name attached to a customer’s bank account number.

2. BVN and Account Name Validation Service (₦10 per successful request)

1. What it does: Verifies that both the BVN and the account number provided by the customer are a perfect match and are linked to the same person. Useful for onboarding flows where you need to confirm a customer's identity against their bank record.

3. BVN Information Verification Service (₦10 per successful request)

1. What it does: This goes a step further. It verifies that the BVN and other details linked to it such as Date of Birth are valid and linked to the same person.

4. NIN Verification Service (₦60 per successful request)

1. What it does: Verifies the validity of a National Identification Number (NIN) supplied by your customer against the national database.

Note: Services 2, 3, and 4 are available in Live mode only and are not accessible in the Sandbox environment.
