The Monnify dashboard has two modes - the Test Mode, and the Live Mode. This article will explain more about the modes and their importance.
Test Mode -When the dashboard is set to test mode, all the features such as disbursement and collections that merchants engage with are not done with real money or funds.
The Test Mode exists to create a safe 'sandbox' environment where merchants can experiment with the various features available on their dashboard without the fear of accidentally spending real money. It's a great place to try out new tools and test their integration before going live.
Live Mode - When the dashboard is set to live mode, real money or funds are involved with every disbursement and collections done by merchants on the monnify platform. This mode is where real transactions take place. If money leaves the merchant's wallet in live mode, it means actual money will be transferred to the intended destination account.
In summary, the Test Mode and Live Mode are the two sides of the same Paystack Dashboard - one side doesn't use real money, while the other side does.
How to Know What Mode Your Dashboard is in
The easiest way to see if your dashboard is in Test mode or Live mode is to look at the mode status toggle at the top right of your dashboard.
If the Mode Toggle button is Green, it shows you’re in the Live mode, just like the image below
If the Mode Toggle button is Red, it shows you’re in the Test mode, just like the image below
To switch between live mode and test mode, all you need to do is click on the toggle button.
Whatever you do while in one mode does not affect what happens in the other mode except for settings
